Submission Guidelines
Articles published in print & online
The topic of the paper must be related to international politics or American politics. The journal accepts a wide range of topics, including but not limited to:
International politics: international relations, international institutions, regional or comparative studies
Domestic politics: American democratic system, American public policy, American foreign policy, judicial interpretations/analysis of public policy, race & racism in America
Thematic topics: environmental politics, migration, human rights policy, nationalism, political parties, electoral politics, socio-politics, gender & sexuality politics, race relations
Papers must be 3,000-10,000 words (excluding bibliography)
Excerpts from papers longer than 10,000 words will also be accepted.
An abstract of 100-250 words must be included.
Formatting and citations should follow the Chicago Manual of Style; submissions do not initially have to be cited in Chicago.
Submissions must use Times New Roman, 12-point font, and be double-spaced. The paper must have a title page.
Papers must be submitted in doc. or docx. format.
The work must constitute original research.
The work must have been completed during undergraduate study either in coursework or a research fellowship.
Essays (published online)

Current events analysis (published online)
The topic of the paper must be related to international politics or American politics. The journal accepts a wide range of topics. See above for a non-exhaustive list.
The topic of the paper must be about an event that has occurred within the past two years
papers must be 1,000-2,000 words (excluding bibliography)
Formatting and citations should follow the Chicago Manual of Style; submissions do not initially have to be cited in Chicago.
Submissions must use Times New Roman, 12-point font, and be double-spaced. The paper must have a title page.
Papers must be submitted in doc. or docx. format.
The work must be original.
The work must have been completed during undergraduate study.

Write your full name (First & Last)
Use your university email
List your university
Include your graduation year
List your major (if undecided or undeclared write undeclared)
State the month and year the submission was written
If the submission was written for a class, write the class information as it appears in your university’s course catalogue (e.g. PLSC 300) and the full name of the professor who taught the class (First & Last). If written under the supervision of a professor (e.g. a summer fellowship), include their name.
Only one submission per person per submission category is allowed at any one time.
